Out now – Neotropic: ‘Prestatyn’ [Rouge Reptile]

Today we are proud to be reissuing another piece of Riz Maslen‘s back catalogue – this one is timely, as it features in the Meloni Poole short ‘TRIGGA,’ which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and has already picked up gongs in London and Hamburg.

Named and composed for her childhood family holiday destination, this reissue of Neotropic‘s Prestatyn includes a Yage Re-Construct of ‘Home’ previously only available via fsoldigital.com.

Originally released in 2006 through net31 and Maslen’s own Council Folk imprint, Prestatyn is closer to post-rock than beatmaking – it’s another development in the sound that can be traced back to 2001’s La Prochaine Fois [Ninja Tune].

For us, ‘Farewell’ is absolutely gorgeous. YMMV.

Stay tuned! The next Neotropic reissue arrives on July 21, with more to follow. Plus: Neotropic’s first new studio album in eight years is also on its way this autumn. Ooh!
