Out now – Benbo: ‘If You Feel Emotional’ [PKLZD]
Out today on PKLZD (and premiering at Indie Shuffle), the second solo release by Benbo – a sparkling summery pop tune with a dirty great synth muscling its way in at the break.
Mixed by Gordon Raphael (producer, The Strokes) and mastered by Mandy Parnell (Björk/Jungle), it was co-written with novelist A.K. Benedict, who also sings backing vocals.
The maverick singer/songwriter/producer has had remixes and productions released by BBE, Conya and Dizzy Tiger. His last production, ‘Feels Like’ by Pablo, was Eddy Temple Morris‘s ‘Softest Record Of The Week’ in May – and his first, ‘Just Keep Coming’ by The Black Tulips, was memorably described by XFM‘s Jon Kennedy as ‘the loudest record I’ve heard all week.’
Signed to Cooking Vinyl‘s songwriting division since 2009, the notorious perfectionist has only just begun to release his solo work to the world – drawing comparisons to Tom Vek, Ween (Musical Moses) and XTC (Disastronaut).
