James Everest

James Everest has been heavily involved with Minneapolis’s vibrant music, film, and dance communities for 20 years.

Winner of a Bessie in 2012 for his music and sound work with Catalyst Dance, he has also worked extensively with artists signed to Ninja Tune and Anticon, and in his own groups Lateduster, Roma di Luna, Vicious Vicious, WAREY, BLACKFISH, dVRG Trio and sans le systeme.

A key collaborator on Neotropic‘s White Rabbits, he was instrumental in bringing many musicians into the recording sessions. Co-writer on three tracks, he also toured the record with Riz Maslen, playing in the USA and Russia.

Keeping experimentation and improvisation at the forefront of his work, in 2015 he developed and launched iNMiGRATiON – a performance installation series that brings together musicians, poets, and video and performance artists to improvise original real time sound scores and immersive environments.
